A smartphone or tablet with iOS or Android functions as a convenient remote control. After installation, the GARDENA Bluetooth® App guides you step by step through connecting your smartphone to the Water Control. You can then let the program assistant suggest the ideal watering cycles for your plants, or you can set up to three individual programs yourself. Each program consists of different start times and durations and can be repeated on different days of the week. A rain pause can be set if necessary to ensure your garden is not watered unnecessarily during a prolonged period of rainfall. This is good for your plants and saves water. You can connect the GARDENA Soil Moisture Sensor, sold separately. This automatically ensures that watering is carried out as needed and saves water by skipping preset watering cycles when the soil is already moist. Three LEDs on the control panel show the current status of the Bluetooth® connection, irrigation, and the 9V alkaline battery in use. The battery should last a full year. If you want to water your plants outside of the set cycle, irrigation can be started and stopped manually at any time by pressing a button on the device. Thanks to the GARDENA \"Safe Stop\" function, you can always keep automatic irrigation under control. If the battery runs out, the next watering cycle is automatically prevented from starting.
